About Us

The Britain Brunei Business Forum was founded under the patronage of the British High Commission in Brunei to enable British and Bruneian business people to meet together in order to further trade.

B.B.B.F assists Bruneian business people in finding British partners for enhancing both parties business performance and circulates information about opportunities for business with Britain through the Bruneian business community.

The forum provides a diverse and inclusive network to build opportunities for British, international and local organisations in Brunei with ties to British business.

Our specific aims:

  • Encourage British trade and investment in Brunei and the Asia Pacific region.

  • Be an authoritative voice for British business in Brunei.

  • Provide our members with practical support and advice, delivered via a range of scheduled events and on-line communities.

  • Share knowledge and expertise.

  • Assist Bruneian business people in finding British partners for enhancing both parties’ business performance.

Ken O'Flaherty

Acting High Commissioner
British High Commission 
Brunei Darussalam

Ken O’Flaherty became Acting High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam in August 2025 after serving as the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to Myanmar from February 2023. Ken joined the Diplomatic Service in 1996, and has previously represented the UK government in Italy, France, Japan and the EU.Prior to taking up his role in Yangon, Ken was COP26 Regional Ambassador for the Indo-Pacific region and Small Island Developing States. This included working with governments, business, media and civil society to deliver strong action on climate change ahead of and following COP26 in Glasgow in November 2021.

Ken has worked on a wide range of issues throughout his career from EU cooperation to security, counter-terrorism and migration, economic and energy issues and the Middle East. He has served as the Deputy Head of Mission in Rome (2015 to 2019), Prosperity Director in Tokyo (2012 to 2015) and Head of Department in London for Iran and Iraq (2011 to 2012). He also led the initial response to the COVID outbreak in Europe in 2020, has negotiated foreign policy, trade and development legislation in Brussels and has been seconded to the French Foreign Ministry.

I am deeply honoured to serve as the new Chair of the Britain Brunei Business Forum, appointed at our AGM on 4 March 2026. It is a privilege to be entrusted with leading this community of professionals and partners, and I am committed to building on the strong foundations laid by my predecessors.

Our forum has always been a bridge between Britain and Brunei, and my focus will be on strengthening that bridge by creating opportunities for meaningful exchange, practical collaboration, and shared growth.

I invite you to share your thoughts, participate actively, and help shape the direction of our forum. Together, we can ensure that BBBF remains vibrant, relevant, and impactful.

I have spent 20 years of my career as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Laksamana College of Business. In this role, I have been responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the institution, as well as developing and implementing strategies to promote growth and success.

Throughout my tenure, I have been dedicated to providing a high-quality education to students and have played an instrumental role in positioning Laksamana College of Business as one of the leading institutions. Through my leadership, we have implemented innovative programs and initiatives that have enabled our students to thrive in today's rapidly changing business landscape.

In addition to my work at Laksamana College of Business, I have also been an active member of the Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) for 18 years. During this time, I have held various executive positions, including Treasurer, Secretary, and Chairman for the last two years.

In these roles, I have been committed to promoting economic growth and investment opportunities between Brunei and the United Kingdom and have worked tirelessly to build strong relationships between businesses in both countries.


Yeeman Cheng
(Honorary Secretary)

Yeeman joined the BBBF Executive Committee in 2019. In 2020 to 2023, she assumed the role of Honorary Secretary, serving for three years. From 2023 to 2024, she continued contributing as an Executive Committee Member before retiring from the Executive Committee in 2025.

Yeeman has been managing the Mabohai Shopping Complex since 2013, bringing over a decade of leadership and experience to the role.

Ambrose Nathan
(Honorary Treasurer)

BizAdvize Services Sdn Bhd

Worked in a number of countries in South East Asia for over 20 years including Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Brunei in various positions in the field of Finance. Experience was notably in Price Waterhouse in the management consultancy division specializing in mergers, acquisitions, receivership, corporatisation of government departments and managing an oil palm refinery. Had 16 years with G4S, the largest security company in the world in the role of Finance Director, Financial Controller of South East Asia and retiring as the Country Manager for the operations in Brunei.

Pg Aki Ismasufian
Bin Pg Haji Ibrahim
CEO, Standard Chartered Bank

Pengiran Aki joined Standard Chartered Bank in April 2012 as Head of Corporate Strategic Initiatives. In December 2016, he was appointed Country Head, Global Banking, where he established the segment, significantly grew revenue, and supported the government’s priorities in attracting FDI and diversifying the economy. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Brunei.

Before joining Standard Chartered, he was Assistant Chief Executive Officer at the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), overseeing Foreign Direct Investment, Investor Relations and the Chairman’s Office. He began his career with HSBC in retail banking and has extensive experience in major national strategic projects, business analysis, stakeholder and public relations, and marketing communications.

He is active in various business associations and is currently a Committee Member of the Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF), which he chaired from 2023 to 2026, and a member of the Brunei Association of Banks. In January 2024, he was appointed to the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), representing Brunei. He is a graduate of the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, United Kingdom.

Ann Herrigan
(Deputy High Commissioner)
British High Commission

Ann Herrigan is the Deputy High Commissioner at the British High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Ann joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1999. Her career has been divided between postings in the Middle East with a posting in the United Arab Emirates (2004 to 2007); Eastern Europe, with a posting in Belarus (2010 to 2013); Central Asia with a posting in Kazakhstan (2013 to 2016); Africa with a posting in Mali (2016 to 2017); and Kyrgyzstan as the Deputy Head of Mission (2022 - 2025)

Serving in London, Ann was part of the Private Office of the Foreign Secretary (2000 to 2004) Convention Arms Control Desk Officer in Security Policy Department (2010 to 2013) and Deputy Team Leader of the UN and EU Sanctions Team in the Sanctions Unit.

Allen Lai
Director - ASEAN & Corporate Affairs, UK-ASEAN Business Council

Based in Brunei, Allen drives the UKABC’s engagement with the region. He also curates the council’s corporate programmes, both in the UK and in Southeast Asia.

Allen has almost 20 years of experience working on geopolitical trade-related platforms in Asia. Before joining UKABC, he was involved in the planning, development, and execution of the APEC CEO Summit, Asia Pacific’s largest business event.

Allen is also the Founder and Managing Director of Confer Sdn Bhd, a strategic marketing and communication company that focuses on business, trade and investment policy issues. Confer specialises in curating and executing impactful business conferences, forums, and roundtables.

Allen has been appointed to the Senate Council of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) for a three year term from 2025 – 2028 representing the alumni of UBD. Allen is an alumnus of the Queen Elizabeth II Chevening Scholarship programme with an MA

in Marketing from the University of the West of England in Bristol. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Universiti of Brunei Darussalam.

Bina Chauhan
The Brunei Hotel

Sales and Marketing Manager at The Brunei Hotel from Dec 2020 till present. Since then she’s been a member of BBBF, and very much looking forward to being actively involved in future events.

Bina has worked within the Sales and Marketing Industry in the UK for 22 years within Media Sales, including: Print, radio and outdoor media. She arrived in Brunei in 2014 and worked for Big Magazine for 3 years thereafter diversified into the Food and Beverage Industry and held positions at RBC and PAR Food and Beverage prior to joining The Brunei Hotel.

Charles Ting

I joined British High Commission in January 1989 as an Assistant Management Officer and later in early 2000, I took up another role as UK Trade and Investment Offer until March 2009. (Total 20 years and 3 months with the British High Commission in Brunei)

BBBF was formed in 2002 and since then I have been a member till now, 22 years as committee member and one year as Secretary from 2016-2017.

I am now running my own business in stationery sector and premium gifts under International Business Mate Sdn Bhd. I am the Director in this company and our company has been appointed by a few reputable stationery manufacturers as the sole distributor in Brunei. UK brands are Parker Pens and Helix/Oxford.

George Lim
Entrepreneur

George Lim is a Bruneian entrepreneur with over 19 years of diversified leadership experience, bridging traditional industries with modern innovation. He began his career in 2007 as a Partner at Hieros Contrade, managing construction operations, and later founded Wei Hong’s Construction in 2012, establishing a strong foundation in operations and business growth.

In 2013, George founded MOV Corp, evolving it into a multi-brand commerce and media ecosystem. Today, MOV Corp includes GMart Convenience Store, G Rewards, GLive, Glicious, Gabung, Kagayaku and MOV Productions.

Through MOV Productions, George has also developed his presence as a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) under the name BigBroG, creating engaging content for both local and international corporations. He is also an experienced live host, fronting shows such as The BigBroG Podcast and BigBroG Plays Cupid. Through these platforms, he explores entrepreneurship, innovation, and social storytelling, while collaborating with brands and businesses across Brunei and the ASEAN region.

Complementing his commercial ventures, George co-owns Master Yang Feng Shui (Borneo) Sdn Bhd, providing professional geomantic consultation for businesses, residences, and individuals, integrating traditional wisdom with modern strategy.

Jacqueline Tan
Leadership Coach

Jacqueline is a Leadership Coach who has dedicated her practice to empowering Brunei's leaders across pivotal sectors like oil & gas, aviation, banking, and TelCo since 2023. Her deep passion is in raising the consciousness of leadership by moving beyond skills training to address the core of how we lead: our inner world. She also supports emerging talent with future-ready abilities and profound self-awareness, showing how mindset, values, and purpose directly impact results. Her transformative approach fosters a crucial shift in thinking, unlocking potential and driving sustainable success.

Manuel Bulens

Manuel is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Compliance, Corporate Governance and Legal Support of Baiduri Bank in Brunei Darussalam since 2020.

Prior to that, he was the Head of Retail Banking at Alliance Bank, Malaysia and has held key positions in compliance, controls, risk and governance with Citibank branches in Belgium, Spain, Russia and Korea. Manuel is also a Chartered Banker.

Huifong Ng

Huifong Ng is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural storyteller and cross-cultural observer with over 15 years of experience.

Fluent in seven languages (English, Mandarin, Malay, French, Italian, Hokkien and Cantonese), she engages directly with people from multiple cultural backgrounds, allowing her to observe subtle nuances in expression, gesture, identity and cultural narratives to apply them into her body of work in painting, poetry and writing.

She is a bilingual author and a columnist in art and cross-culture where she shares her insights monthly in See Hua Daily newspapers (East Malaysia and Brunei). She is also an invited speaker to institutions in Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore, and universities in China and U.S.A. where she speaks on art, cultural observation, heritage and the commercialization of art.

She founded several cross-cultural art projects, including connecting diverse audiences across continents.
