The Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) successfully held its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members, business leaders, and guests to reflect on recent highlights of the Forum. The event took place at The Roof, Laksamana College of Business Annexe Building, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, at 5 pm.
The AGM began with opening remarks from Ms Ann Herrigan, Deputy British High Commissioner, who underscored the importance of strong and enduring UK–Brunei business relations and commended the Britain Brunei Business Forum for its active role in fostering dialogue and collaboration.
At the Annual General Meeting, Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, stepped down as Chair of the Britain Brunei Business Forum upon completing his three-year term in accordance with the Forum’s constitution, which provides for a maximum tenure of three years for office bearers. Pengiran Aki continues to serve on the BBBF Committee as an Executive Committee member.
Dr. Siva Subramaniam, CEO & Deputy Principal of Laksamana College of Business, was elected as the Chair for 2026/2027 while Ms Yeeman Cheng was nominated as Honorary Secretary and Mr Ambrose Nathan as Honorary Treasurer.
At the conclusion of his three-year term, Pengiran Aki expressed his gratitude for the trust and support of BBBF members and partners, highlighting the Forum’s continued efforts to strengthen UK–Brunei business ties through talks, member events and community initiatives.
Pengiran Aki also thanked Acting British High Commissioner HE Ken O’Flaherty, Deputy British High Commissioner Ms Ann Herrigan, auditors KPMG, and Laksamana College of Business for their continued support, and expressed confidence in the Forum’s continued growth under the new leadership of Dr Siva Subramaniam for the 2026/2027 term.
In his address, the newly elected Chair of the Britain Brunei Business Forum, Dr Siva thanked the outgoing Chair for his leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the BBBF’s mission of fostering stronger business ties and promoting collaboration between the United Kingdom and Brunei.
Dr Siva thanked members for their continued engagement and support, and expressed his commitment to serving the Forum in line with its objectives and long-term vision during his upcoming term as Chair.
The evening concluded with Dr Siva Subramaniam presenting a memento to the outgoing Chair, Pg Aki Ismasufian bin Pg Hj Ibrahim, followed by a networking dinner.
