Wrapping up a successful year of forums and events, the Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) held its final event for year 2019 with an invigorating talk
on ‘Investment Opportunities in 2020 and beyond’ on 21st November 2019.

Ms Yvonne Kuan, Chair of BBBF, welcomed the audience which was made up of a strong segment of diplomats, bankers, insurers, economists and
representatives from the legal and business sectors of Brunei Darussalam.

His Excellency Richard Lindsay, British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam made the opening remarks of the event, followed by 3 speakers who each
gave their perspectives of the investment landscape in the near future. The speakers were Ms Brenda Low, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Securites, Mr Sufian Zainul Abidin, Partner of KPMG, Brunei and Mr Ambrose Nathan, Managing Consulting Partner of BizAdvize Sdn Bhd.

Brenda shared her outlook on investment options, while Sufian touched on interesting trends which will create new investment opportunities in the future. Lastly, Ambrose gave a insight into his personal journey as a collector of antiques, Chinese ceramics, banknotes and coins, and shared his experience of the pitfalls and advantages of such an investment choice.

The dialogue was moderated by Mr Andrew Caie, a career diplomat who has been living in Brunei for a total of 12 years.

The Britain Brunei Business Forum was founded under the patronage of the British High Commission in Brunei to enable British and Bruneian business people to meet together in order to further trade.
